Speaking of the new year, moments ago Linux Game Publishing has sent out a memo to all BETA testers that X2 public testing will open up today before midnight! Once the BETA opens up we hope to post a ton of the new Linux screenshots within hours after the launch and preceding that we will be working on some benchmarking results of this new Linux-native game presently under development. We have already spoken with the Michael Simms, the CEO of LGP, and he has said there are benchmarking capabilities similar to what can be found in the Windows version of the game that has been out for some time.
