ATI Linux Display Drivers v8.21.07 Hitting the web today at 2:00PM EST is not only ATI's new CATALYST v6.1 Windows drivers but also yet another revision to their Linux counterpart -- v8.21.07. The official changes for this release are dismal, simply relating to OpenGL and the package management, however, we hope to see more monthly Linux releases complimenting Microsoft Windows CATALYST. Below are ATI's two changes for this release.
OpenGL 2.0 Support The latest version of the ATI Proprietary Linux driver introduces support for OpenGL 2.0. Smaller ATI Proprietary Linux Driver Bundle The ATI Proprietary Linux driver bundle is now approximately 50% smaller. The reduction in size allows for faster downloads and uses less hard drive diskspace. With this release Phoronix has provided coverage (as usual) upon the public release of these drivers here. There are also a few known issues and issues resolved with this release. If anything else un-usal with these ATI drivers come along, we will be sure to keep everyone posted.
