Weekly Gobble Starting off this past week we had our hands on the BlackDog from Realm Systems, which happens to be the world's smallest Linux server and runs off a PowerPC processor and features up to 512MB of flash storage. In addition, the device can interface with both Linux and Microsoft Windows systems. Making its monthly appearance for January from ATI was the v8.21.7 Linux display drivers. Like CATALYST v6.1, the fglrx v8.21.7 was largely a routine maintenance update with only official appending of OpenGL 2.0 and reducing the overall package size. Onto a power supply examination, one of our new staff members (Yan Min) had examined the Cooler Master Real Power 550W. Finally, wrapping up the week we published our Tyan Tomcat i7230A S5160 review earlier today. The S5160 features Intel's the Mukilteo Chipset, XGI Z7 graphics, dual PCI Express slots, and two Broadcom Gigabit ASICs. Software this week consisted of the popular Red Hat Fedora Core 5 Test 2 screenshots, LGP X2 The Threat v1.4 (BETA 3) benchmarking, and initial screenshots of X2 The Threat under Linux. Next week we hope to have a few additional motherboards up on the block as well as the SilverStone Strider 560W unit and our traditional array of other products.
