Holiday Edition We at Phoronix have finished up another batch of Linux-powered
hardware articles. Starting with we have been investigating the
performance of DDR2 with a Pentium M laptop.
We ran the laptop in 512MB, 1GB, and 2GB capacities with Centrino.
Moving onto notebook hard drives, we ran tests with a 8MB cache HDD as
well as 16MB, with the article visible here. We have also, yet-again, benchmarked NVIDIA's latest drivers the 1.0-8178 x86 and x86_64
that offers various improvements. Also, we have looked at the ASRock
939Dual-SATA2 motherboard that has been popular with budget enthusiasts
and we found it to offer great Linux support. In addition, we have published some other *NIX reviews/articles - Thermaltake Muse, Sharkoon Rainbow TC, SilverStone PP02, and Quake 4 Quakemas. Happy Holidays! Posted by Michael Larabel on December, 24 2005 |
