Firefox v2.0 Alpha Slips As some of you may have noticed, Mozilla Firefox 2.0 Alpha was originally anticipated for a release this past Friday (February 10, 2006), however, it appears that the deadline had slipped with no release in sight. The Wiki development page for Firefox v2.0 now says Next scheduled release date: slipping a little (Alpha 1). Heading over to the road-map shows that 2.0 Alpha is still scheduled for a release this quarter, with the BETA coming in early Q2 of 2006, release candidate(s) in late Q2, and a possible final release in late Q2 or early Q3 of this year. Mozilla Firefox v3.0 is already on the heals of a possible launch in Q1 of 2007! Some of the feature plans for 2.0 can be found here. We will cover additional information upon the release of this upcoming Alpha release. For those into nightly builds, they can be found at the Oregon State University Open Source Lab (OSUOSL).
