Fedora Core 5 Test 3 Slips Yesterday we had reported that Mozilla Firefox v2.0 had missed its release date for the first Alpha release, however, now word has come out from Jeremy Katz at Red Hat that the Fedora Core 5 Test 3 will not be released today as originally anticipated. If you will recall, a previous Fedora 5 development build had been delayed last December. The reason for the one week delay on FC5T3 is due to an ABI change in gcc/glibc, which will require a complete rebuild of the entire distribution. Right now Fedora Core 5 Test 3 should be released a week from today (Monday, February 20, 2006) and at this time there is no word on the official release date for next month. Before this announcement Fedora Core 5 was scheduled to be released on March 15, 2006, however, we hope this will not cause a delay of more than a week. The Fedora release schedule is here with more information also on Fedora Core 5 Test 2 and Anaconda. Posted by Michael Larabel on February, 13 2006 |
